3801 Limited will be operating regional steam train trips in the Dubbo area in partnership with Westhaven Association and the Lachlan Valley Railway in August. The train will depart Central Station (Sydney Terminal) early morning on Thursday 12 August and return on Monday 16 August (timetable to be confirmed).
The journey to and from Dubbo* is to position our train in Dubbo, ready to link up with the Lachlan Valley Railways steam locomotive 3237 for the three days of steam trips in that area. The fare to and from Dubbo is $100.00 each way, with lunch provided on the train. Please note that this is not a fully accommodated weekend package and it will be necessary for you to arrange your own accommodation.
Tickets for travel on any of the steam trips to Narromine on Friday 13 August and/or Narromine or Geurie on Saturday 14 August, and also the day trip to Dunedoo or Binnaway on Sunday 15 August are being sold by Westhaven Association (contact details below). If you wish to travel on any of these steam trips it is advisable to book in advance as tickets may not be available on the day.
While in Dubbo you may wish to attend the Dubbo Jazz Festival that will be presenting a line-up of international and Australias best Jazz musicians. 2010 marks the 20th annual Dubbo Jazz Festival.
