The Cockatoo Run operates from Sydney through to Moss Vale via Wollongong on Thursdays and Sundays. The journey from Sydney offers spectacular coastal scenery prior to the ascent of the Illawarra Escarpment. The line climbs 600 metres through rainforests, past waterfalls and the spectacular viaduct. The train makes a stop at Summit Tank to admire the view over Lake Illawarra out to the Tasman Sea. The train is mainly hauled by one of our Heritage Diesel Locomotives and consists of fully restored 1930’s carriages. Our buffet car offers light refreshments and souvenirs. The train is not licensed, however you can bring your own drinks to help make a memorable day out on the train.The Cockatoo Run can take you to either Robertson or you can continue on to Moss Vale.
