Carriage L516 Restoration Project Update

Great progress is being made on the restoration of heritage carriage L516, a 1937 72 foot timber sleeper car, for use as a first class lounge car. Learn more

Work on the timber panelling, seat upholstery and flooring is now nearing completion, thanks to the incredible work of the restoration team of volunteers, and the generous support of many suppliers. In particular, 3801 Limited would like to thank Polyflor for their kind sponsorship and assistance with the vinyl flooring for the carriage, a commercial grade, high performance and heavy duty flooring with a polyurethane reinforcement to facilitate a low-cost, lifetime polish-free maintenance regime, which we selected for its resistance to wear and long life.
